No... it is the SAME plant... cannabis sativa (cannabis indica is not used for hemp because it doesnt grow as tall)... same kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus and species...
It's just that it is not harvested for THC yield like weed and it is allowed to germinate and such... So the THC content is VERY low...
