The crowds energy quickly rises as the sweet and unmistakable smell of marijuana wafts through the masses, your best friend on your right taps you on the shoulder and passes you a tightly wrapped joint of the finest weed you could find for this occasion, you take a pull, then another before offering it to the stranger on your left, an extremely hot chick who accepts it gladly and thanks you with a pat on the thigh before handing it back to you ....the stage erupts in an explosion of light and sound as the first of many famous guitar riffs slice their way deep into your brain....it's party time!!!

The best I got is 4th row floor, Judas Priest, final show of the Turbo Lover tour at Reunion Arena in Dallas. I [was more buzzed] than I should have by a factor of two on the way in. I shouldn't oughtta done that. But I did. I was deep fried.

I know there have got to better stories than my lame 'best concert'

If I could have any lineup, I would probably let the Eagles open for the Beatles, and the Beatles would all like each other and play each other's music. Pretty sappy, eh?

If I get a 3rd band, it would be the Grateful Dead; 4th would be Marley or Pink Floyd. I have no imagination. On the other hand, there is a damn good reason they were so popular and ubiquitous in their times. They were all that good.

After that, I'd be chasing something esoteric, like Hawaiian slack key, or traditional SE Asian sounds.

Steve Miller, Post-Gazette Pavillion, 1999. I didn't think I was going to be able to go to this show, because my van had broken down, and I was pissed. So here I am, on my back under the stankest pile of shit ever to call itself a Chevy, trying unsucsessfully to reattach the main pulley to the end of the crankshaft, when up walks two pairs of feet.

I know these feet, they belong to my friends Jim and Bopper, so I pull myself out from under the van and ask what's up. Turns out, they have Jim's car, are going to the concert, and knowing that I wanted to go stopped by to see if I needed a ride.

Without hesitation I locked my tools in the van and jumped in the car. We were sort of late getting to the show, which was compounded by the fact that we had to park about a mile away and walk the rest of the way into Post-Gazette Pavillion, but we got there.

Sorta.

The thee of us got up to the gate just as the last tickets were being sold. Jim in fact got the last one. So Bopper and I ended up spending the rest of the night out in the parking lot, wandering from tailgate party to tailgate party, bumming beers off of people untill we were so trashed we couldn't do it anymore.

It wasn't the greatest concert experiance, but I had fun anyway.

I have actually never been to a concert. There's been a few that I really wanted to go to, but couldnt make them. If I got to pick a line up it would be Kottonmouth Kings, HollyWood Undead, Disturbed.

kottonmouth kings has a good live show and so does godsmack, rammstein, slipknot, to name a few, oh and black sabbath, but i didn't smoke yet, but some old guy next to us offered us some, i won't forget that haha

Lazerium show at Griffith Park Observatory 1976. Guy in front of me passes a thick J to me and my date, filled with some fine Maui Wowie he says. His lady is so ripped she sits down, stating she can't stand. I chuckle to myself, rookie I says to myself. Rookie hell, by the time we reach the steps to the entrance, I'm having out of body experiences, swear to Budda I felt like I was floating above the crowd of stoners surrounding my blazed ass. Made the shit I brought look like oregano.

wow. Yes would be the shit dude. no doubt, no doubt... i'd like to see Kilswitch Engaged stoned. that's for new bands.. i saw slipknot (but was straight because the dude i went with wasn't a good sport. damnit.) and they would have been even BETTER if i were stoned. but i wasnt. they were awesome anyway, but that woulda made it sooo much better. oh and before they got up there it was Trivium and Coheed and Cambria. they allllll rocked. oh and for old bands... Cream, Hendrix Experience, the DOORS (can't believe nobody said them!!!!! or did they?) omg the Doors would be the BEST in concert... especially if you were tokin on summa dat kind bud. other bands... uh STP, Godsmack, Smashing Pumpkins (old), Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch, System of a Down, Audioslave, Soundgarden, RATM, Fleetwood Mac, Rush, Zep(definitely!), oh, and the ultimate, along with the doors and the Dead in my dream concert..... PINK FLOYD!!!!

I saw Slipknot last year at Meyhem, I'm not the biggest fan of their music, but they put on one hell of a show, I'll give them that.

Funny things from last year: Master Chiefin' a blunt for like half an hour in what turned out to be the restroom line at a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers concert.

Steve Miller forgetting he was in Pittsburgh (Burgettstown really, but close enough) and thanking the crowd in "Buffalo."

My friend walking around Meyhem with "Please show my girlfriend your tits" written in magic marker on his shirt.

Oh man...hands down Metallica and Jack Johnson. Mostly Metallica but still Johnson is my get high music! haha But it was amazing, I had my best friend there and some fine herb! Gonna do it all again next summer!
