Marijuana Business Owners in Detroit are Strongly encouraged to Attend

Date: Thursday January 26th, 2015
Time: 7:00pm EST
Place: Northwest Activities Center 18100 Meyers Detroit MI 48235

A full session of the Detroit City Council Hosted by Council President Brenda Jones will take place:

Marijuana Supporters Purpose: To inform the ENTIRE City Council that you want the people to decide this issue as a referendum with their vote at the ballot box, instead of a few in the community who want to bring back prohibition through the use of bizarre zoning regulations and 1st amendment abuse of the seperation between church and state.

(Field Report on Ordinance #61 - How to Short Circut this poor legislation)

All Marijuana Business Owners and supporters are recommeded to be present. Because of the lack of visibility from Detroit African American Business owners, special interests are milking drama from a situation that is not there. We cannot tolerate Black Racists who are in bed with the prison industry to keep the jails full of our citizens.

Quotes from Winfred Blackmon to Mayor Duggan:
"Ms. ****, can you find out why these illegal marijuana provision centers are opening back up a few days after they are raided and shut down by DPD? This address was raided on 01-19-16, seized were marijuana plants weighing approximately 101lbs with a street value of $466,223.00. The daily cash receipts and an illegal gun was also seized according to a DPD public infromation officer who provided this infromation to me. 01-22-16 this illegal provision center was open for business as usual."

5000 signatures on a ballot referendum will effectively neutralize this oridinance until all of the citizens cast their vote on the issue in Novembe 2016. We feel that this ordinance was rushed through the process. We also feel that the majority of Detroiters who want and support Marijuana reform don't want this ordinance because it was designed by a bunch of people stuck in the late 1930's with Harry Anslinger and J. Edgar Hover, both of them who hated Negros, some Whites, and Marijuana while both of them ran around in women's underwear.

All objections and issues you have with the proposed ordinance are highly recommended to be in writing for the record. These objections when compiled will be presented at the public hearing and beyond. Sometimes waitng to speak may be fustrating but written documentation is the best method so far.
Your voice is being ignored and that is why we must place this issue on the ballot. If you cannot make it, then written responses are required if you want your voice to be COUNTED in opposition for the record.

When you send your email response to City Council and the Mayor, please place this message in the subject line:

Let the People Vote on the Detroit Marijuana Ordinance Nov. 2016

Michigan is the only state that you cant sue a drug company in...

This ordinance if it takes effect on March 1st will do the following:
Ban all drive through businesses
Restrict the operating hours of all Marijuana Business requiring them to close at 8pm and open at 10am everyday
Impose strict Zoning rules that will reduce or eliminate the number of Marijuana Business in Detroit using religious prefrences

The map below is an illustration of the zoning regulations for medical marijuana facilities contained in Councilman Tate's proposed amendment to Chapter 61 of the 1984 Detroit City Code. The bold portions of the map indicate which areas of the City would be eligible for medical marijuana facilities under the proposed zoning regulations. It is important to note that medical marijuana facilities would be restricted from being located within 1,000 radial feet of another facility.
