Does anyone know what does it mean when marijuana makes a pop noise when lit?

I've heard it is sometimes due to stems or seeds....but neither of them were present...

I packed a pipe last night, and heard a hissing while I was hitting it. Next thing I know, POP, it knocked the whole cherry out of the bowl onto my foot. It was a seed masquerading as popcorn, lol

I thought of making a hemp candle with seeds and leaves off the plant ,, Then I thought about seed explosions all over and the lawsuits and i gave up that idea

Compress the oil out of the seeds and mix with wax


Just moisture trapped in the plant matter.
Could have been a seed, they have a lot of moisture in them.
Same as a log poppin' in a bonfire
