1) are lava rocks good for your plant? how would you use them if so?
2) does root stimulator work well? when is the best time to use it? 3) does blowing your smoke on your plant change the potency at all? 4) my bottom two leaves are starting to turn brown on the edges. i pruned it and it is still continuing. any suggestions? if you can answer ANY of those, it would help a LOT. THANKS!

lava rocks would be hard to clean the fungi off, root stimulator for clones, no smoke... they are your lil babys, bottom leaves do that, make sure its just not way to fast, is it a seed grow?

the plant is somewhere between 3-4 wks. it just grew its first set of 5 leaves and its adding the two to make it seven. i am transplanting it from a pot into a 5 gal. people told me to do 2 parts lava rocks 3 soil but i'm not sure. so you don't think its a nute burn with the bottom two? yes, it is a seed grow and we were thinking about using the root stimulant for the transplant. what do you think?

Depending on the root stimulator, using a little too much can be harmful to the plant and even cause pH issues. If you are going to use it I would go dilute.
I have seen people use lava rocks but not for many years. Why not add perlite? It's also inert but it's small enough to do some good. It will help the soil drain and help your plants' roots breathe. At three or four weeks I would not expect to see nutrient burn because you would have just started giving nutrients to them and at very dilute amounts. Unless you used one of the soils that contain them already (that is a bad idea). Oh, blowing smoke on your plants - MJ, tobacco, etc. - is a BAD idea, your leaves have pores called stomata and they are responsible for gas exchange. CO2 enters the plant through them and O2 that is produced by the process of photosynthesis exits through them. The plants also transpire water vapor through them. Covering them with nicotine/tar/etc. would eventually prevent them from working. If you smoke in your car with the windows rolled up imagine all the crap that is on the inside of your windows (it's also in the headliner, dash, your skin, etc. but is easy to notice when cleaning the windows lol) covering your precious plants. Or just take a lungful of smoke, hold a tissue tightly against your mouth, and exhale the lungful of smoke and then look at the crap in the smoke (the part that didn't stick to your lung tissue) that is in it.

I have been using Sta Green all purpose potting soil with time release. It has really helped my plants. BUT on a lot of things I read on the internet it told me to go ahead and use nutrients. Most people told me every other watering. I do it maybe once a week but I believe it has been raising my pH and on my smaller, younger plants it is helping. Although with my bigger plants it seems to be doing damage so for now I will stop using it. Thanks a lot for your help! It's answered a lot of my questions!
