As I was looking for accessories for my bong (diffusers, pre-coolers) I came across two different sizes, 14.5mm and 18.8mm. How do I know what size would work with the bong I have?

Take the original stem stand it up on a piece of paper and outline it. Then take that paper into the shop and see what matches up with your piece.

Great idea! Though I still don't understand the sizes. I measured the diameter of my downpipe/stem and it's 12.7mm. It goes into a rubber grommet on the bong. Would I have to buy a brand name bong to use aftermarket parts?

I have no idea what size any of my stems are lol.
![]() You'll be able to use aftermarket parts as long as they are the same size. I've bought 2 different aftermarket ash catchers and a different hitter for my one bong and I've always did what I stated before. In the store I would make sure that they were the same sizes by lining it up with the outline. The owner of a head shop helped me with the same problem.
