have any pointers or plans for building a vaporizer? The store boughts are a bit pricey for me...and I have always been one to build something if I needed it instead of buying something....I was just looking for some pointers or successful attempts at a home built vaporizer...thanx

i am also a "Macgyver" of smoking devices... i can make a bong out of damn near anything!
a friend of mine told me he made a vapo out of a lightbulb, but if you do that, make sure you get a CLEAR glass one.. the white ones have a phosphorus-like stuff in it that is very harmful to your body!

Could always do it the old-school way that people used to do before the advent of $500(WTF?!?) vaporizers and grab an automobile cigarette lighter (do they still make those?) and the power supply & controller out of a model train set (do they still make those lol?), put them together, "smoke" a couple of bowls determining exactly what the proper speed setting on the train controller is required for vaporizing bud of the particular moisture content that you are using, and then start making your own <WHOO! WHOOOOOOO!> noises.
And then you could look around at the high-$$$ vaporizers that your friends are using, stick yours in some kind of box and fab a whip up for the thing, and then when your friends see it and say, "It's not digital, and that thing looks like you painted it yourself last night," (LMFAO), you can look back at them and reply, "Yeah, but I only paid three hundred for it instead of five hundred like you guys. Oh, and it works just as fine. See, watch..."

 starting point for a heating element...never thought about using one of them...thanx again now I have a direction to work in
