Cannabutter Question

I am making a batch now. It seems like whenever i make this stuff, it is so green I wanna puke :-) It also stinks. I cured the leaves in a bag for over a week, so I dont know how the green is still leeching.

There must be a trick to this somewhere :-)

Never mind, I found the thread with a walkthrough. He simmered his for 3 hours... no wonder it's browner than mine :-)

Greetings my friend. I remember when I was making Butter using
a 1/4 LB at a time. What I did that changed that made it more
effective & potent, not to mention the Green problem was to
wash the Cannabis in the bathtub with cold water & you would
be surprised how much shit came off the leaves until they stated
to become a lighter green. I belive I then used a formula of 1/4 LB
to slowly cook with 5 sticks of butter, Yes it stinks, open all the
windows & after cooking, let Cool & then put in the Frig. over night
and the next day the Butter looks more like a shade of yellow, pour out the
water & you have a better Cannabutter. I hope this was helpfull.

if your so inclined.. and the butter still comes out to "green" for you can take the finished butter and put it into a pot with water in it and resimmer the butter for an hour or two. let it cool and re solidify and then do it again if you so wish on low heat.. the water will absorb the green parts leaving you with a much cleaner tasting butter.

Thats exactly what I did, & then when it cools down you could put it in the
Frig over night and pour out the water and turn over the butter so the
the last of the accumulated waste could be scimmed off & then you
have some lighter, cleaner & more potent Cannabutter.

You can avoid burning the butter to a brown by sauteing it at a lower heat for a longer period of time.
