starting a big grow room asking about products

I would like to know if anyone knows anything about these two systems. If there are could you please tell me and is this a good way to go.
#1 Sun System Vll super spectrum dual ballast- 1000 Watt- 400 Watt MH + 600 Watt PHS w/ super spectrum Horizontal reflector.
#2 Waterfarm Controller Kit- drip system.
What is the best growing media? They say to use grow rock. I would like to know if there is something better like Silica Stone, Parilite, or Clay.

Don't have any knowledge of either. but I've heard the waterfarm can be problematic as many drip systems can be. They clog up and if left unattended could starve your plants. Some might suggest adding 2 lines and drip rings in case one fails.

About the ballast...

I tend to stay away from 2 in 1's since it limits your flexibilty on running them separately in different locations. Also does not sound like enough light for a "big" grow room by my definition of "big"
