When was the 1st time?

It was only a few months ago. A friend and I were both interested in trying it out and we found out his cousin dealt a bit, so we went in together and bought some and got a pipe.

It would have been better if me and my buddy had actually smoked together for the first time, but when he went to get it he smoked with his cousin. And his cousin kinda turned him off of it at that point because he had him smoke so much he was completely gone and he didn't really enjoy it with it being his first time. But I don't know-he was kinda weird about it. I'd have probably liked that.

So, later that day-after it'd all worn off of him-we're hanging out at my place and I'm excited cause I finally get to smoke. So he packs the bowl and says he doesn't really want any (though he did smoke a little later) but I can smoke away. So I do. I wasn't completely gone but it was a very nice experience. I was just sitting around my house for hours going "Man, I love everything."

Been smoking since and don't intend to stop. Unlike my friend, I've yet to have one negative experience with the herb. I still don't understand exactly what he didn't like. That night I started to open my eyes up to some stuff and I feel it helped me mature a bit and I think it's made me a better person-or helped me begin the mental process that made me a better person anyway.

Grade 10, just broke into a school, cousin whipped out a blunt. I never got stoned that night but the next time I was fucking toasted. THe first time doen't always work for some people ive noticed went back to the house and just chilled listening to tunes

This is posted elsewhere, but here's my story:

My friend and I were walking down to the beach one school day, and saw a little weed growing in the dirt. It was obviously something that popped up from a discarded seed, quite spindly and sparse...just leaves. We left it, but apparently my friend went back and harvested it, dried it, and rolled a joint. We smoked it; it was my first time. I only felt a minor effect...hardly noticable.

Shortly thereafter, my friend and I went in on a "lid", $7.50 each for an ounce of commercial seeds, stems, and shake. Or quite possibly my friend got the buds and I got what was left. We smoked a joint together rolled in those yellow zigzag papers - I think they were hemp...not sure. This was in high school, and we smoked out on the field during enrichment period.

After smoking we split up and I went inside. The school was 2 levels with a central mall and a balcony above. I remember walking up to the railing next to this beautiful but shy young lady. I still remember exactly what the young lady looked like. The feeling in my body as I reached out for the railing was a total rush. It felt like the sound from "the six million dollar man" - kind of like the sound Bill Murray makes when he's golfing in Caddy Shack. I stood at the rail and watched the people and experienced my first high. It was life changing.

I smoked first to fit in. I didn't have an identity, didn't fit in with the jocks, socialites, rich kids. By joining the family of smokers I found an identity.

I was on my paper route...I was the industrious one of the bunch...my friends finally convinced me to smoke and gave me 5 or 6 huge bong hits in a row.....I hugged a tree for the next 2 hours, too scared to move.

Now, 30 years later, I love it.

I'd like to hear more of people's stories.

Grade 8, in the corn-cobb pipe I had bought to look like Huck Finn for a school movie. Since we weren't capable of really understanding our high we just smoked all of it and then we reallllly felt it.

My buddy "D" and I were trying to see who could hold their foot over the flame of the candle the longest (We were stoned for the fist time, don't judge!). After about 30 minutes of ridiculous pain and laughs going tit for tat, I won the competition when I let my sock ignite on fire for about 3 seconds of agony. "D" didn't have the cahones to let his sock light on fire.

It was all in good fun and its been a long time since. D will be attending Princeton next year (sports scholarship). Come to think of it, my other best smoking buddy is going to be attending Harvard next year (another sports scholarship). Meanwhile, the only thing I'll have to remember that first smoke is the scar on the side of my right foot. I regret nothing.

I was 16 and with my friends paul and damian.they had a quarter and for some reason I never wanted to smoke before.I gave in that day and we went under a bridge down damians street and smoked outta his pipe.we were surrounded by plant life and it made me feel like I was in the congo.then we went back to his place,I ate all his food and skated stoned for the first time.it was an experience x]
