and you also have the opportunity to fine tune your smoke....
I have had plants for 2 years that were strong and healthy. I have had some plants that died off after 14 months. I have never heard of anyone personally who has had a mother for more than 4 years. But thats just me personally. I haven't googled it yet, haha

I just had a soon to be mother sprout: Greenhouse Cheese

I have her in a rockwool plug now and will transplant her directly into a 2 gallon pot. Then the only other transplant will be into a 30 gallon pot for what I hope to be at least 2 years. That would be amazing but I'll live with at least 200 clones.......
