Re: using hps for veg?

I agree with Racefan.

Autoflowering is a genetic trait of the plant. Differences in the intensity and spectrum of the light will not make a non-autoflowering plant an autoflowering one.

The blue spectrum of MH is better suited for veg. growth then the red-orange spectrum of a HPS. The blue spectrum encourage bushier growth with less stretch and shorter internodel spacing. However, veg. periods are usually kept so short the difference between using a MH or HPS for veg. is negligible.

Suffice to say you can use the HPS and be just fine.
