How Much Lught Should a Clone Get and How?

Hi everyone,
I am hoping to begin some cloning this weekend.
The plan is to use a compact florescent light and put the cuttings
in clear 7 oz plastic cups topped with cling wrap with a hole poked through
for the cutting and Shultz's take root as the rooting agent.
I have read quite a bit about different cloning techniques here and
my many thanks to those who have posted so much information, but
one thing that doesn't seemed to be covered too much or I have just missed
it is how much light to give the cuttings. I see references to no direct light
and weak light, but I just don't get it. I've been using Reflector lights and compact florescent bulbs,
but do I go with a 20 Watt (comparable to a 75 watt Incandescent light)? Should I go higher or lower in
CFL Watt range? ...and how much space should I give between the cutting
and the light if I want to post the light directly above the plant?
Thanks
