Because Exxon and other oil companies can't put a stranglehold on the market and drill for it.
Because Merk, Pfizer, and other pharmaceutical companies can't put a stranglehold on the market, extract things from it, and patent them.
Because Dupont and other chemical companies can't put a stranglehold on the market, use it in their chemical manufacturing process, and keep others from doing so.
In short, because the government lobby process is still legal in this "democracy."\
To a lessor but still valid extent, because a true democracy requires the EDUCATION of the people that comprise it; and between the government and the press, well, do I even need to finish this sentence?
