Yes you can put them in direct sunlight! If they are 2 and a half or 3 weeks old and 3 inches or taller. They will actually do better in this stage with natural sun and artificial light mixed. Put them out in the morning and bring them in before dark and put them back under the light for another 8 hours. First six weeks or so, the other benefit will be strong healthy stems very very very important for outdoor plants the natural wind and breeze will stimulate nice stem growth . At 6-8 weeks plant outside keeping in mind everything changes at that point. It gets much easier water every three days or so and you are pretty much good to go. Good luck. By the way I have never done this nor do I plan to do this ever till it becomes legal. Really I haven't done this for the last twenty or so years with great results you know what I mean.
