Could you turn your lights on at night instead? That`s what I do and it makes a big difference. My lights come on at 7:30 pm and go off at 7:30 am (before the meter reader guy comes, lol).

Edited to add: I just realized you`re talking veg - but maybe you could work around the hottest part of the day if you had your lights come on at say 7 pm and go off at 1 pm? Just a thought.
