Quick update -- I moved the fan off the exterior wall of the house into the middle of the grow room and hung it from the ceiling with black rubber bungee cords, added flexible foil vent hoses on either side and wow - what a difference in the noise level outside! I have yet to add the noise insulation to the fan and hoses (which I will do to minimize the noise outside the room -- which isn\'t bad except that I tell people it`s a storage room so they may wonder what that constant hum is!). I can now crank my fan to full speed without being over-taken by waves of paranoia! Thanks again for the reallllly useful idea :)
