wow this offends me to no end "rights" to a plant i don't think so. granted the us gov. is ridiculously dragging their feet on hemp and marijuana legalization and i know this article is a mostly about corruption but our so called capitalist system and the state sanctioned monopolies, patents and intellectual property, that exist here are uncivil and inhumane because unless you created the seed and bred it from day one you don't own shit and even if you did somebody is helping you to plant, processes, and store them so again its not just yours is everybody's that participated in creating the resource.
to me the argument isn't who owns the rights but that no one can own the rights to such a thing this results in everybody having the rights to it.
