Wonderful! Thank you much for the leasson, I'm such an eager "old" grasshopper.
Below are progress photo's of at least the Grow box. Decided to go with something a bit simplier than the refrigerator at first.;but once I become more advanced, I'll move into the refrigerator. This picture is the base being put on over the existing rails. Side view. Close up of Interior view. Side view with temporary top. Alright, so still have to add one side and mount the top. Going to place the top it so that no light gets through, but can be easily detached. Going to then add front doors that swing out and are sealed when closed. Then for the Fan, timer, thermostat, etc. Still working on better lights. It's a work in progress.... going to germinate me some seeds tonight, time to get the grow moving forward....lol, cause it's on wheels. |

Nice!
I like the idea of using a fridge to grow in... but mostly for the chuckles factor. You're a wise grower... keep up the reading. There's a ton of info here on the site and all over the net. Some of it can be confusing, but we're here to help ya, so ask away when you have any questions. Judging from your cabinet design, you've been doing quite a bit of reading. Great job! That's a very nice design. I do have some questons about the height of it tho. Are you shooting for a screen of green grow? If not, you're plants are going to get alot taller than the upper rack... not to mention the lights. Of course, as I recall, those racks come of the top, so you could just be planning to remove the upper rack when the babies get big enough. Cheers!

I use the exact same rack (Sam's Club special baby!), but the full height version. It's about 6 ft tall. I just draped reflective material around the outside. Works well for my config. It's a very flexible design with tons of mounting points for light, fans, and whatnot.
Cheers!

Grow 1 - Week 2, day 8.
So far so good. Have 3 out of 12 possible plants growing. Placed fan and Thermostat/humidity sensor today, starting to look like a Mad scientist experiment.... and that's the idea. Image 1 - Image showing thermostat/humidity sensor and the corner of the fan unit. Image 2 - Overall view from top. Image 3 - Additional overall view from top. Oh' I'm getting so excited!

I was also wondering exactly what kind of lamps you are using there?
If you're still growing, please update us with some pictures and info. We'll move this to Abandoned Journals until we get updates. Thanks and hope all is well in your world! Love and respect from all of us here at 420 Magazine!

Mid week-6, the grows been going slow but steady. Another couple of weeks before I start flowering.
Grow Station with front and top cover removed. Plant One, first to sprout, growing strongest, looks the best and has a scent. Plant Two, growing slower and smaller than Plant One Plant Three, puny and decrepit, sickly... maybe a male. These are the types of lights I use, local grow lights. I keep ya'll posted. |
