First Hydro, Nirvana Big Bud

Hi everyone,
firstly I should thank the site, all members & system admins for all the help I have had by reading all the forums, this site is unreal!!!
I am lazy, so finally after 6weeks I'm going start my grow diary!!!
I did start a soil indoor grow, but this ended very badly!!! So anyway this is my first real effort. Heres some details and pics to bring you up to speed.

Vegetative Room

Painted matte white
H1800mm x W1400mm x D480mm
24hr Light regime
2 x 4ft 36w cool white fluorecsents
2 x 4ft 36w warm white fluorecsents
2 x 120mm 12v computer fans for intake
1 x 120mm 12v computer fan for exhaust
1 x occillating desk fan for movement
1 x 950l/hr submersible pump for drip system

VEG Nutrients 'Dutchmaster ONE' grow
10L resevoir, half strength mix = 60ml/10L
Distilled water only
PH @ 5.8
Temp range of 20 degrees celcius - 23 degrees celcius
Rockwool and Expanded Clay


Flower Room

Painted matte white

12/12 Light regime
1 x 400W HPS bulb with cooltube reflector @ 125mm x 400mm
2 x 120mm 12v computer fans for intake
1 x 120mm 12v computer fan for exhaust
1 x occillating desk fan for movement
1 x 250l/hr submersible pump for drip system

FLOWER Nutrients 'Dutchmaster ONE'flower
'DUTCHMASTER POTASH+'
10L resevoir, half strength mix = 60ml,7ml/10L
Distilled water only
PH @ 5.8
Temp range 18 degrees celcius - 23 Degrees celcius

Just wondering if you can only use buffer to calibrate a Ph meter once or can it be re-used ?
I'll post pictures of my ladies stems later, there thicker than two cigarettes.
If anyone has any general advise about my setup or plants feel free, this is my first grow

Congrats on your setup and plants, both are great! From the looks of your plants you definitely learned from your mistakes with your first grow that you say "ended badly". This will be a nice journal to follow.

@ the moment they don't seal, it will be when i install the carbon filter, I already have my expandable foam ready!!

Yeah, I have been using buffer 7.0, went to check it against buffer 4.0 and it was way out!! NOW I KNOW!! The first 4 weeks of this grow I didnt have a PH meter!!! Ph sorted now finally!!!

I think I made every mistake possible!! Overwater, underwater, nutrient burn, not enough nutrients, hot spots from reflective material, etc.
Its only because of this site that The above grow is going at all!!!

P.S I have photos of all my mistakes that i'll post somewhere sometime!!

Things seem to be going fine / ish. Ph problems sorted. I had been using my Ph buffer over & over & over again!! oops!
As a result there was some nutrient lockout in all five plants, although they all seemed to go about their business in a

mostly normal fashion. I think because all plants started the first 4weeks with a flucuating Ph of somewhere between 3-8

that they have a little tolerence to the imbalanced Ph.?. maybe.?. Either way I can't wait for my next grow, which will

have perfect Ph all the way through!! I'm Excited!!!
