what is your PH? That may be off. You do test PH after adding your nutes, right?

Oh yes, PH is at 5.7- 6 usually... i check and get it perfect when I make a new res water(18gal). I adjust occasionally if needed- but it usually is pretty good... someone told me i need a lid for my res, it currently sits under the tray with the plants. So lights don't shine directly into it. He said with no lid the nitrogen leaves the water... Is this true? Is the table covering the res enuf? Is a Nitrogen deficiency look like what I have? I want to redo the water for the 1st week of Bloom ASAP.
What are your thoughts on PPM and % of base vs calmag plus or other supplements/nuts for my new water mix... Again, im using R/O water...? How much superthrive does everyone else use? Sometimes I'm afraid to add the full 2.5ml per gal to my res, Very scary to add so much superthrive right? I get so many conflicting sources of advice...What's the sure way to go for a simple res/nute mix that covers all my bases? |

Hi everyone, Just an update on my grow.
I started flowering 4 days ago under one 600hps and one 400hps. I have the the two tents(huts) going. My tents are pack to the gills. I am deciding when/if i should top my plants. Its a jungle already! I will post some photos soon of my progress.... It seems my leaves are doing much better and I think it was a calcium def. I up'd the Calmag Plus to 5ml per gal and it seems to be working fine for now. My res stays stable and the PH stays at or under 6.2 almost always. My ppm is around 1250-1300 for this first ten days of flower. I will change the water at 10 days and up the ppm to 1400-1500 for the next ten days. Following that, I will continue with the same feeding convention for two more res changes eventually raising the PPMs to 1800 on the 4th res change out (at day 30). The last res change at roughly day 40, will be my flush. I plan to harvest most of the plants(blueberry)on day 45-50. The Bubba Kush plants might need to stay a little longer supposedly. I am using the following Nutes in my 18 gal res for flower cycle in the hydro setup (I have one bubba plant in dirt under the 400hps): Nutes for flower cycle: -Pure Blend Pro Bloom(hydro) -Botanicare - 10ml per Gal -Cal Mag Plus -Botanicare - 5ml per Gal -Superthrive - 0.5ml per Gal -Liquid Kool Bloom - General Hydroponics - 2.5ml per Gal I will use this same formula in the weeks ahead until full/ final bloom and I will phase in 2.5 ml per gal of Liquid Karma by Botanicare in the below schedule: Day 1-10 New water, 1250-1300 PPMs Day 11-20 New water, 1450-1500 PPMs Day 21-30 New water, 1650-1700 PPMs Day 31-40 New water, 1750-1800 PPMs Day 41-45 plus... Flush water with 10ml per gal of Clearex -Botanicare Cut and Dry I plan to get around 500 grams when I harvest at the end of November. If I'm lucky I might get up to 1000g - Another we'll see situation:) Any thoughts or advice would be welcomed. gwon to be a Far I

Hello, this is a very hard to answer question. Is it be Better? Um, I'd prob say Yes and No to that depending on your desires beyond good bud. It depends on your preference and your needs/constraints. Dirt and hydro can both have amazing results and also their own pitfalls. l suggest you do some research before heading either way.
One consideration is the disposal of dirt vs a hydro system which has much less waste. If you don't have a place or means to dump a lot of dirt every couple of months then i would definitely suggest hydro. Drainage can be a issue as well in "drain to waste" dirt growing. If you are poor and don't have a big budget go with dirt. IF you are a lazy grower, go with dirt. Go to the hydro store and buy good soil, don't use out door ground soil or the crap at home depot. MOST dirt has BUGS, spend more on good dirt stored indoors at the hydro store. It's worth the extra money and saves a lot of headaches. good luck dewd...

Yo Sup everybody....?
So here is whats to come in my newest photo post coming up in the next few days: Select large leaves getting almost bleach white on ends again.... Res is at day ten and I think it needs to be changed more often, I will change it out tonight... Seems that something is leaving the water over time and causing a deficiency of some kind. Either Nitrogen or Calcium/Magnesium.? I dunno for sure yet! the ppm's stay very stable ... very little is lost according to my ppms. I have a Mite problemint he 400HPS hut! I have been spraying and fighting them, Hope it doesn't ruin my crop.Things still look good tho.... I still have fungus gnats and larvae around... I am at Day ten of flower as well (under a 600 and 400 HPS), pics to come soon. ![]() ![]()
