Whats up fellow stoners..I had a grow journal a while back, I grew NYC Desel in a little closet setup..but a nosy pest control guy, found my setup. I didn't have a grow going at the moment, so technically there was nothing illegal about it, but still, in anticipation of a visit by the local fuzz, I took the setup and down, did away with any evidence on my computer etc..etc.
It's been over a year, they never showed up and I've moved since then. So I started a new grow..its just bag seed at the moment, but not for long, I did those just to test the conditions and setup, after these are done, I'm going shopping..I haven't settled on what I want to start, something feminized, and something fruity.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() They got too tall for my tastes, I collect seeds out of bags of really good mids, and just grabbed some random ones, I got two females, the one on the left is taller, but is budding much slower, the Pistils are developing, but very slowly, and they are almost hair thin, god only knows what kind of crazy strain mix that is..the one on the right is shorter, but the bud is forming much faster, and thicker, like a traditional Sativa/Indica mix...Nothing special, but the set up is working beautifully, now all I have to do is decide what kind of real bud I want..got any suggestions?

I had also, just misted them, and the walls are plastic so they reflect light..it's not as bad as it looks.

it looks like there is over 80% humid you must get something to dry your room this is not good for the plants, they will survive but they wont do good and buds will probubly will mold and roten, can you get a dehumidifier ?
in the mean time just take a towel and dry everything that has humid on it in the grow room it may also be bad and dangers to the electricty just wipe with a towel all the water you see around the grow room. |

I will by harvest time...I live in central Florida, humidity stays around 90-99% all summer. :(

the walls don't stay wet like that, neither do the plants themselves, I do need a dehumidifier, but like I said, I had just misted them, so it makes it look more humid than it is.

Not sure what strain to recommend, but for feminized seeds I would get them from Nirvana.
It would help to get the humidity down, they say 50% but no one knows who came up with that. Transpiration, where the leaves evaporate moisture, is what sucks up the nutrients from the roots and that is easier to do in lower humidities. That being said, I know people growing outdoors in places like Hawaii and Costa Rica where the humidity is very high and they do fine. But I think with Hydro it is a totally different deal. Bud end rot is not caused by a fungus, bacteria or virus that anyone has identified, but calcium deficiency is always present and to make sure there is enough calcium the soil PH has to be in the 6-6.5 range (most good potting soils) and you have to have good transpiration to get the calcium up to the buds. Not sure in Hydro if that is the same deal. An easy solution to all this is to foliar feed the plants. Glad to see you back in action! Things look great.

sweet, thanks SouthernOnt and Borntorun, appreciate the input and kudos :), I do foliar feed, so, I may be okay, really, I'm not having a problem with overall health, so I think everything is going fine as far as calcium,..my biggest concern at this point is finding a place, I can dry the bud..humidity is high here until October or November, and this will be ready long before then, I am going to get a dehumidifier, I hope thats enough.

![]() I'm getting a little bit of yellowing on the tips of the leaves, other than that they are looking very good..My PH is sitting right at 7.6 or so, so I may back my nutes down a touch, see if the browning stops.

I backed them down, and so far the browing hasn't spread, it seems to have stopped in it's place. The plant on the right is filling out nicely, and the trichromes are really starting to pop, I'm surprised, this being bag seed and all
the plant on the right, is Sativa dominated, and seems to have a longer flowering period, it's not quite as sturdy as the plant on the right, and I've had to reinforce her using fishing line. about 30% of the hairs on the left plant are already beginning to turn orange, which has me concerned, but I'm going to ride it out, not knowing what mix of strains I have in this plant, I have no point of reference to compare it's traits to.
