I have decided to withdraw from any testing and publicly displaying the results. It seems the mfg's no longer wish to be in contact with me after purchasing their lights, so that is fine. I will see who makes the better unit between the three manufacturers units, if anybody is curious, they can PM me. Otherwise, keep close watch on customer service guys....don't get ripped.

Lumigrow- 330 Watts, vs. Prosource 180W, vs. Hydro-Grow 2x126W.
What ya'll think... 3-way test...3 different unit brands. 3 different power supplies, who's gonna win!?!?!?!?!? -GO Green- |

What do you guys think here...Should the units be positioned according to manufacturer coverage/height etc? Or should it be done how your average joe may approach it?
What we don't need is a lot of b.s. being called because of stupid issues such as: well that unit is higher than this unit, blah blah blah, nobody wants to hear this stuff... What ya'll think? Oh, and seeds are the choice, sorry. That too is another blah blah we should not encounter, because its not necessary. There will be enough plants under each light to give us enough of a test base to form a comparison. I think the best bet is to make the journal so nobody can reply until I give the say so. Either that, or the journal will not be published until the entire grow is over. Anywho... Open for suggestions. |

HEre is what I have found.
Lumigrow 330ES covers 12-16 sq ft. for a primary light source. Prosource 180W covers at a 6" - 18" for heavy yielding covering a 3x3 area. HGL 126W panel covers at a 6-12" height. 2x3 area at 12" height. These are the specs from the sites. Keep in mind, the overall height of the area is only 3ft. So...consider that when thinking about hanging distances. The lights will only go so high. Anyhow. Brain food . Go Green! |

Nicely stated. Thanks for making it easily readable.
I think a good rule to go buy here is the same number of plants under each unit. That seems like it makes it even more comparable. Agree? Since realistically, is how I want this test, you will only be able to get a certain number of plants under a certain number of lights. Efficiently. Thats my take. -Go Green- Last edited by Soniq420; 11-08-2009 at 01:28 PM. |

Have you decided to go forward with this test (post 19) or are you moving forward (subsequent posts)?
I wanted to state up front that 420 Magazine is very interested in seeing journals like this and in seeing the data that is objectively generated. The scientific method rules ![]() That said, there's been a significant issue with inappropriate posts in other LED threads. Please refer to the forum guidelines if necessary, or PM me, I'm here to help. We need to make sure that no one is arguing or putting down or making fun of the products or knowledge of the companies (whether sponsor or not) the data speaks for itself. LED Grow Testing
