Enclosing CFL's in plastic tubing?!
Alright Guys, bear with me on this please, thinking out loud really
But i have a small tent (0.6mx0.6mx1.4m) and I have got 4 x 125W CFL's(2 red/2blue) in there. 2 horizantal under some hammered alu sheet on EZ rollers and 2 vertical hanging in the centre , now the ones hanging in the centre will eventually have plant leaves growing too close to them! so my question is can I enclose the 2 hanging vertically in plastic tube so the plant can grow and touch the plastic tube and not the actual light and not get burnt?! |

Re: Enclosing CFL's in plastic tubing?!
You could but you run the risk of melting the plastic plus you will be reducing the amount of lumens to the plants as the plastic will block some light.

:( DOH there goes that idea, but thanks for the confirmation :)
Anything else i can do, apart from moving the CFL's out the way(if I can) and hoping the plants dont touch 'em!? Thanks. |

Re: Enclosing CFL's in plastic tubing?!
Sorry to bump up, but i thought of another quick question while i was here:
the tent is for flowering so should I have the red bulbs horizontal above the plants and the blues hanging vertical by the sides of the plant or the other way around? |
