MMJ For Bi-polar disorder? And a couple other Qs

Hey everyone. I'm bi-polar and smoking marijuana definitely helps with mood swings. it works about 50 times better then my prescribed medication (depakote). I can get medical marijuana for this, right?

and then i also had a couple of questions about what i need to bring to the doctors. what all do you need to take with you? ID and anything like pill bottles or proof of your condition are both obvious, but what else? do you need insurance to get a recommendation or do you just pay the cash fee and youre good to go? any help would be appreciated,
