So say I have too many clones to grow on my own, can I sell clones to the dispensaries? and if so how does one go about that?

yes, bring your clones to the dispensary and sell them.
you might want to call first, but a lot of them buy and sell them.
just make triple sure you have no mites, that can get you in a lot of trouble.

any idea on the compensation you get? or does it vary from co-op to co-op?

it varies.
maybe 5 a piece or so.
they resell for 10 to 15, depending on strain.
call the co-ops, they will be able to answer your questions.
