It's a shame that these large scale operations are desecrating our national forests. They pollute the water and destroy the flora and fauna. These also cast a terrible light on the efforts to legalize marijuana. These are the grows that you hear about in the papers that get the oooo's and ahhhh's from the anti-marijuana community.

Many of the large scale grows are not local growers, in fact few and far between. Most of these grows are supported by the mexican cartel, who have everything to gain and little to lose. Desecration of the land is just a part of doing business.

This type of operation adds nothing to the national forests or the communities surrounding them. It's a take the goods and run operation. And no benefits to anyone but themselves. This map is from 2006 and is only the top ten national forests, so you can only imagine the scope.

Let's leave the grows to the locals. The benefits are reaped in more ways than one.

If marijuana were legalized, there wouldn't really been a reason for the cartel to trash the land.

Can you imagine how much weight could of came off of all those plants that were destroyed? Imagine how much meds could have been in the hands of those who really need them!
