Aspen CO: NORML Aspen Legal Seminar June 5-6

I am writing to alert NORML supporters that our annual Aspen legal seminar will be held this year on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6, at the Gant in Aspen, CO.

This is the one legal seminar to which we invite interested non-lawyers to attend, as well as lawyers, and our experience with this mixed format has been positive. The lawyers seem to benefit from hearing the questions and feedback from the non-lawyers, and the non-lawyers enjoy learning more about the application of the various laws that impact their lives.

Please mark your calendar now and plan to join us for what has become a great annual legal seminar and a great time for all who attend in marijuana friendly Aspen Valley.

• the ethical considerations when setting fees

• the pharmacology and pharmacokinetics of cannabis

• the importance of using demonstrative evidence in every case

• drug courts and other diversion options and due process

• realistic drug law reform under President Obama

• defending paraphernalia cases and representing other cannabusinesses

• the religious use of marijuana as a defense to criminal charges

• significant new drug law decisions

• representing medical marijuana dispensaries

In addition to the seminar, we have scheduled time for attendees to relax and spend time with old friends and get to know new friends, including an opening reception at the Gant on Friday evening and our annual NORML benefit dinner at the lovely home of Chris and Gerry Goldstein on Saturday evening, catered by Chris Lanter, chef at the popular Aspen restaurant Cache Cache.
