Hey PAchamama,
You didn't mention what type of lights you are using, I'll assume they are fluorescent. How close do you have them? My first guess it that they would like a little more space between themselves and the lights. They are nice and compact and show no signs of stretching, so you might try raising the lights just a bit and see if that helps. |

I had that happen when in the first few days after putting a couple of clones in a phototron. You can see them in the HALTED thread linked in my sig. The problem did go away after a few days. I think it occurs when a plant is still small and developing its roots still. Once the roots are better established, the plant will no longer try to limit photosynthesis by curling the leaves. Just an educated guess. If new leaves continue to develop that way, let us know. I know it is hard to look up this issue on the net.
EDIT: I looked at my old posts again. In my phototron thread, a post on July 3rd shows a pic of a plant that had that leaf curling issue. Note the new growth was not affected by the condition. That same plant is in my current ScrOG grow so I think the mango will be just fine!

I saw you promoting your Journal over in setting sun's and thought I would take a look.
May I ask, why are the roots covered in brown sludge? Even when using Piranha, Tarantula and VooDoo (or any other beneficial microbe product) they should not be congested like that...also, what are the nutrient solution temperatures in your buckets? |

My first suggestion would be to grab a pair of panty hose and use them as a filter bag(s) for your powdered piranha/tarantula. Think of it like a tea bag. Suspend the bag in your reservoir and the powder will slowly dissolve without clumping or any other undesirable effects. Having your roots covered in anything will severely limit their ability and necessity for oxygen. And speaking of oxygen...
...27degrees Celsius is too warm for your growing method because it will limit the amount of dissolved oxygen available in your nutrient solution. This is not good and will eventually cause problems and end your grow prematurely. Now, you mentioned that this is your second grow, how did the first one go? What method(s) did you use? |
