I hope this will get me going. The seeds are fem ak-47 I plan to germ them Monday or Tuesday.
My Dwc system should be here tomorrow I hope I have my water sitting I used purified drinks water and boiled tap water together and put in 18 gallon tote. Hope that's ok as I don't have a clue but had to start somewhere.
I plan on getting through first grow and then getting a clone tent but that's down the road. I need this to work for me so I don't have to spend so much money on meds as they are to HIGH. I love my meds and I want to be successful in my grow and a Big thanks to 420 for having this awesome site. Update of pics when I get the Dwc set up.

Re: NGK. First time grow. DWC AK-47 LED SS440

Glad you like the site so far, your tent looks lonely! You are a brave man going DWC w/ no grow experience. I liked it, it worked, but I'm lazy and I had to spend too much time on it. I switched to soil halfway through my "aero/DWC attempt" Started with aero, then the roots reached the water, so it became a DWC/aero. Without this site I would have never got to the sticky buds I grew. Read journals that are in progress & completed journals will show you everything from start to finish. There is a forum dedicated to DWC, best of luck, glad you're aboard!

here's the DWC link where you'll find many journals like your plan.:passitleft:

Re: NGK. First time grow. DWC AK-47 LED SS440

Hi NGK.:ciao:

Subscribed and glad you got a journal going. You definitely got some quality equipment, you should be able to grow ounces in that tent every harvest. Your in the right place for all the help and advise you might need.

Once your seeds have turned into seedlings and are ready for nutrients, my advise to you in DWC is keep the nutes very mild. Get yourself a TDS pen to read your PPM's for water quality and once your plants are ready for nutes start very light. Try to aim for around 150-200 PPM at the beginning and raise it slowly by about 50 PPM every week til you get to around 300-350 and keep it there until flower.
When you flip to flower slowly start raising the PPM's every week again til you get to around 500-600 and hold it steady there til flush and harvest.

My first grow in DWC my biggest mistake was over feeding which stunted growth. Because the roots are literally sitting in their food and life source, if the nutrients are to strong the roots get burned and can't absorb nutrients or drink water anymore until they heal.

Start off nice and light on the nutes. Its much easier to fix a deficiency from not enough nutes than overfeeding and burning your roots, causing nute lockout.

Once your up and running if you have any questions just shout out, myself or any of the many others who will subscribe will be glad to help if they can. Good luck man. ;)

Re: NGK. First time grow. DWC AK-47 LED SS440

Hi NGK.:ciao:
Now that your all setup and running, how are the seams in the tent, any light leaks?
I've heard mostly good to great reviews of Gorilla grow tents but there are a few bad reviews that talk about the seams and zipper leaking light sometimes. Any thoughts?

Stealth I got in mine and I don't see any light leaks and I checked everywhere It. Is a very nice tent and I love how heavy duty it is and it's real easy to put together by yourself. I am happy with the quality of it and price. Got this one of e-bay for $289

Nice, I think I might be in the market for a tent soon, Gorilla grow tents are at the top of my short list.

Looks like a nice setup to get started!

While I agree you're brave to start with DWC, I'm a hydro guy, so I won't say not to. :blalol:
I've never used DWC personally though. I prefer ebb & flow style systems. I have helped/consulted on a few DWC and NFT systems. They definitely work well, and there are a TON of experts here.

Good luck. Looking forward to seeing your bud porn in a few months

Update

Got the Dwc system in and set up. Got my seeds in the rockwool just now and I hope to have some babies this weekend. I used ph adjusted water on my seeds PH was at 6.0 and the ppm was at 130. I hope that's alright. I think it will be ok. Rinsed my hydroton off with distillers water a few times then with my PH adjusted water. Well, update tomorrow on pics of the Dwc and rockwool cubes.

Thanks hiker on the info. I think I can do Dwc and if not I'll switch to soil or something else but I think I can and therefor I know I can. And with a site like this one I'm sure to have success. Thanks for joing in

that's the perfect attitude! :thumb:

I wasn't trying to discourage you from DWC at all :)
