Hi all. I will be growing Lowryder #2 from BC Bud. She is an auto flower that finishes 60 days from seed. This is my second go with Lowryder having just finished my first cycle. I average 20 grams/plant from 4 plants. I am not an expert grower by any means, and will be changing a lot of concepts from the first round. This is also my first journal. I’ll do my best.

List of Materials

Hrydrofarm 7x7 square pots.

Jobes Organics (General fert. 4-4-4), and Earth Juice Verde Fire Bloom, Ph up/down/test.

Tappin Roots I work this into my rotation

For dirt I am going to get some organic soil from a nursery in town called Green Acres. Don't have any now and can’t remember the name for the life of me.

My water is coming from fill your own gallon RO machines found at the supermarket. It test constantly >6ppm and ph around 6.5.

My grow space is a 32.5X32.5(inches) tent. Will be using 400w Ballast to start before moving outdoors.

The plants currently in the tent are of unknown strain. I got a seeded sac looking for weed on a road trip and kept the seeds.

The first thing I changed is the way I germinate seeds. I combined two methods I read from Cervantes Marijuana Horticulture Medical Growers Bible (pg 17 in my version), and the FAQ forum

I lined one of those blunt holder/cone holder things with fine sandpaper. Put the seeds in and shock lightly for a couple mins. Then put the seeds in a cup of water over night. The next morning I prepared the jiffy pots. Let them sit in some hot water tell fully expanded. Drained away excess water. Then pinched more water out. By that I mean I squeezed the pot tell water drain out the bottom. Put the seeds in the pots, with just enough dirt to cover them up. Let them rest in a dark closet. That was day one 5/3/14. The following picks were taken today 5/5/2014.

I kid you not. This pic is just a few hours later then the one above. Has any one tired germinating the way describe with sand paper and over night soaking? This is much better then my first go (4/13=>25%)

My dirt I will be using. Just some organic soil from a local nursery. I will mix in some extra castings and the Jobes fert as well.

**Day 5**
Nothing exciting going on. Just transfer the seedlings to little cups. This will be there temp. home for a couple weeks. Then I will transfer to the final pot. Earlier I stated I was going with 7x7 pots. I'm changing to 9x9.

What your doing with the sandpaper is known as "scarifying" your seeds. I just roll a piece of sandpaper inside out and plug the ends :thumb: One thing you might keep in mind is that autos shoot a long taproot out fast and can fill those tiny cups in no time! Best bet is to start them in the pot that they will stay in, that might help increase your yield in the long run. Looks good and im along for the ride as this is a strain I was thinking about doing

***Day 23***

OK my first major issue is here!!? I live in the greater Sactown area and the weather the last week or so has been well into 90s. I Have been giving Lowryders full sun. Now I know I didn't mention this earlier but my Lowryder #2 seeds are Feminized and I expect 100% female. Well a close inspection today found little balls between my nodes. They were not on all the nodes and some only had only one ball on one of the two parallel nodes. 5 of the 11 plants are effected. So I called BC Bud told them whats up with that. Only thing we could come up with was the heat. Heat stress causing them to Herm. The rep told me to cut the balls off, and just monitor them too see if the problem spreads and hope they adjust to the weather. Took some picks, any advice would be appreciated. Other then that all is well.

***Day 27***

Consider this my week 4 update. Have too much to do tomorrow for an update. OK last I checked I was freaking out over the plants herming. But after doing so research I realized it’s not so bad. Some growers try to make their autos herm for seeds; I'm just not there yet. So I cut off the balls and they seem to be doing fine. The plants are all showing flowers now.

An interesting note to all the Sactown growers

Sacramento has been noted as being the sunniest location on the planet for three months of the year, from July through September. It holds the distinction as the sunniest month, in terms of percent possible sunshine, of anywhere in the world; July in Sacramento averages 14 hours and 12 minutes of sunshine per day, amounting to approximately 98% of possible sunshine.

***Day 32***

I did a bunch of work so I figured I would update. This is what I'm up against.
weather4.jpg

Its going to be F***in hot!! So I put up some same cloth. Its 50% shade. One draw back of having 98% of possible sun shine. It really only gets too hot after 2pm-3pm when temps rise over 90. Thank god or just luck, for the Delta Breeze(sea breeze which comes through the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta from the San Francisco Bay) cools everything down at night. The girls seem to be doing well. Took some measurements (see pics). Smallest is about 17in. and the tallest is around 22 in. with most falling between 19-20in.
