Hi there guys and gals of the 420 mag community, this is my first ever journal for my first ever grow. I wanted to start growing because i don't like buying mediocre overprice weed in a world where everyone wants to profit. I started looking into growing and the basics. I found out the mass of bud i could grow and was amazed.
I have know idea what strain it is the weed it came from smelled very spicy and i was scared to smoke it actually. I got two foam plates and a wet paper towel and a couple days later it sprouted. I didn't even have my dresser fully built yet but seeds don't wait for anyone.
The seed grew very well considering i reused potting soil from my backyard and it was only under 4 23 watt 6500k light bulbs. i topped after a couple nodes and started lst'ing it. One day i got too extreme with the lst and split the main stalk in half. I almost cried but i heard stories of people taping it back up and sealing it. With a bit of tape and a few days of reverse lst( i switched the sides of the the string so that it pulled the plant together instead of apart)it was good as new if not better.
I threw into flower around a month of veg and i topped right before that (which is a bad idea now I know now). I also didn't lollipop fully and properly till after the first harvest. I got around half a ounce of the main colas ,but I left the popcorn bud on because of the bad light penetration of cfls. After a week i harvested the rest and got around another half oz. I also made edibles off the trim that turned out delicious.
The weed is something i have never smelled before it smells of citrus cut grass and a bit of skunk. The high was unbelievable for me one or two hit and i would be soaring for half a day.It did have some seeds i had a hermi ak47 that might be the culprit. (i got boried with the ak47 cause it was a sickling. I experminted with hydro. I didnt expect to get far)
Looking back they needed a extra week or two. I should have fed earlier into veg and lollipop earlier. Shouldn't have topped in flower. I Also didn't dry the way i wanted too it dried way too fast for my liking However thats life and you live and you learn.
Future: I am moving onto a 600w hps cooltube hydroponics and Nirvana's( bubbleicious,ak48,and white castle.) I grow in a closest so i will install a dryer vent to it can passively draw air from my room and then i will exhaust air through the attic with a carbon filter.
