Without a doubt this is the most informative, cutting edge, and knowledgeable sites on the planet.
I have been lurking on this site for over a year now and finally got the balls to stop reading about it, and BE about it.

A bit about me. I have grown in the past...a loong time ago (over 10 yrs) and back then it was very different from today. So much has changed yet the basics remain the same: Listen to them bitches when they have something to say! lol. I enjoy the process of growing, especially during the winter months. Its relaxing and gratifying.
I smoke about an oz a month so it would be great if i could harvest 10 to 12 zips.
I would be thrilled to FIRE this guy i currently buy from! I hate when the prices go up yet HE cant explain why? Is it because its a Diesel or OG Strain? HE has NO clue. But I DO. I know how to fish, so its time to fish and fire this fool.

Where I am its about $10 to $15 per gram for something good.
That's a hell of a lot of bread yearly obviously.

Winter Grow
My objective is to grow enough meds for me to last during the hot summer months.
I want to be able to enjoy travelling without sweating about whats going on in the garden.
Summer heat brings its own challenges to growing so I will take that time off.
I may rethink this if I get short on smoke, so I may use LED exclusively during warmer months but we will see.

Since I have had to learn so much about DWC, LED, and grow tents it was a little daunting to figure out where i wanted to start.

I decided to go with a 4x4 tent and 600w HPS/MH dimmable combo. I will then add an LED (P300 by Platinum LED)to the 600w HID for flowering later.
I will be performing LST, and FIM. I am also looking to use Light Addicts' Backbuilding technique as well.
Filter, fan, and ballast will be outside the tent.

Here are the girls week 2 in DWC netpots and 6 in square pots.
Planted 5 OG Kush and 5 BC Big Bud. All 5 Big Bud seeds popped. 4 of the OG Kush popped. 9 total.
Nine out of 10 aint bad. We have ignition Yall!

Here at day 35 i decided to do LST on these bitches. Bend Dova!
I also FIMMED the entire cast.
I may have waited a bit late to FIM as I did it at the 7 and 8 nodes. Maybe the fimmed growth will be closer to the canopy? We will see.
BTW....here is my feed schedule:

Here we are at day 46 of grow. They appear healthy and vibrant.
Its been really cold during lights off with temps dropping into the low 60's.
I notice purpleling of the stems and undersides of the leaves.
I have been vegging at 18/6 btw.

Here we are at day 53. Noticed its much less crowded in here. I had 8 pots with 9 plants in them.
I decided to donate 3 of the coco fabric pots to a friend (4 plants total).
Leaving me with a total of 5 (4 in DWC and 1 in coco 3gal fabric smart pot.
I am going to flip them at this point as I have not grown these strains before and I want to keep plant size robust but not wild kingdom. Still using 600w MH at about 18in high. Ordered my LED light from Platinum LED.
I saw what Curso and GovCheese and others have done with higher end models.
I cant afford an all LED setup so I decided to do a hybrid multi light setup.
I spent less than six bills for both lights.

Finally!! My P300 arrives! Now its time to get it poppin!
At this point its day 60 and the 1st week of 11 on 13 off.
Changed the nutrient to flower from grow. Added tomato cages.

Here we are at day 69. Had to raise the P300 way up. I was a bit too excited to put it on my bitches and hung it 16in
from plant tops. They were like....Yo!!!! Ease up on the intensity please as they showed me some taco curl.
I should have known better. Looks like it slowed things down a bit (about 3 days) after raising the light 20-24 inches I see they recovered. Enjoy the pics!

Here we are, finally I have caught up to present. And now hopefully, so are you.
Day 91 (week 6 day 37 of flower). You will notice I have 4 remaining plants. 1 of the BC Big Buds was a dood.
Had to immediately remove those ballz. No room for testicles (except mine) in my garden. LOL

Thought i would post a quick update.
Day 93 (day 39 of flower).
Dropped the HPS down to 10 inches. Dropped the P300 LED down to 12 inches.
Increased the PPM from 900 to 1100. Currently the girls are eating nutes like mad.
Between the 4 of the ladies I am watering over 2 gal daily.
Once I get to day 42-45 I am looking to perform Light Addicts backbuilding technique.
Hopefully I can get some cool results. I am thinking of performing a light defol but I'm uncertain.

That's the same tent I am looking at getting so I gotta ask if you have grown in it before and if so do you think a 400 watt hps would work. Im in a hot summer climate and plan on putting my setup in my garage that doesn't have ac so it gets pretty warm in there.

As for the Gorilla LITE grow tent?
I wouldn't recommend it.
Sadly, the zipper (lower left front) broke at week five.

As a result I have to re tape that portion of it every time i enter the garden.
If you want to go Gorilla, get the original one.
Also, I bought the extension kit which raises the height to something like 7'-8".
I think the added height will help with the temps.

As for your question regarding using a 400w in a 4x4 I would probably say not enough watts to cover fully. Im using a 600w mh/hps and before I got the LED the corners of the tent were lacking imo.
I believe a 3x3 or 4x2 would suit that light better. my 2 cents.

Whats good my family?
Today I have a brief update.
We are now at day 95, day 41 of 11 on and 13 off.
The environment is stable at:

The ladies are really tricin' out!

Here is a group shot:

I am so happy to see the resin production picking up.

Also noticed the plants under the LED's pistils have changed color.
No more white hairs and they appear to be receding.

The OG Kushes i have under the HPS light still is pushing white Don King style tops:

I am happy with the trics production
however I am looking to invest in a uv-b reptile light to increase thc production.
I have read a few journals where uv-b spectrum resulted in more potent product.

2 Mini Deep Dome Lamp Fixture's (I will use a light hanging yo yo for these).
4 26 watt reptile lights (10.0 and maybe 2.0 combined) 26x4=104watts .

I dont have much longer before chop, so I will attempt to get a minimum of 15 to 20 days exposure to the group for the full 11 hrs on.


Tomorrow completes 6 weeks. Its gettin close.
