Re: First Grow: 2 white widows

It has something to do with it for sure. I have some more on order, because I see the results people are getting from it. The stuff I make at home just doesn't have all the ingredients of the stuff you can buy.

You are also using HPS and that helps flowering tremendously.

Re: First Grow: 2 white widows

Right!! I hadn't even factored in the hps.

Man I'm glad we have so many current journals going. It's especially helpful to me to have a few whitewidow grows going. I'm sure we're all learning from each other.

Hey Boss, I know you've been keeping up with the NoMercy grows too. Did you see Atmoshpere's grow? Where do you think he got a tray big enough to put all that soil in?

I'm thinkin, if I harvest before April, I can start a 10 week NoMercy grow. I'm trying to avoid growing during the hot months of summer.

Re: First Grow: 2 white widows

I am sure they just made it. How, I could only guess. My next grow is a SOG on 12/12 from the start, and i am hoping to get better results then the 3 I have now. I am sure I will be doing 12/12 from now on though, it just makes sence to me. I am just afraid that the current ladies won't get done in time to get the mesh up for the little ones. I may have germ'd too early. But, I have more seeds, so no big deal.

You got some good lookin girls there though, great job. :-)

Re: First Grow: 2 white widows

12/12 from the start makes alot of sense. I think proper germination is key though. Can't wait to see how your 3 lil ones turn out. Peace home fry.

Re: First Grow: 2 white widows

The more soil the better, up to 5 gallons I think, but 3 gallons would prob work fine.

Re: First Grow: 2 white widows

For the first 12/12 grow, I would expect to go 12 weeks depending on the strain. For me anyways. Until I get nute strength down, the lights all correct, I am sure it will add time. I think 3 gallon would be fine, but I don't think I would go smaller due to limited yield anyway.

Re: First Grow: 2 white widows

I had pretty good germination as well. I folded about 3 paper towels in half and poured water over them. Then put the seeds in the center and fold the towels over them. Then throw the whole thing in a zip lock bag. They were ready in a day.

Re: First Grow: 2 white widows

The plant on the right has about 4 fan leaves that have turned really yellow and will surely die. I would have cut them of sooner, but the plant doesn't have that many leaves too begin with. Should I cut them off? Or wait until they wither on their own and die?

Re: First Grow: 2 white widows

Actually, I reduced their nitrogen intake to stop the stretching. You think I should give them their normal dose?

Re: First Grow: 2 white widows

I would bend them toward the side with least flowering and bring the lights down. Oh, just let the leaves die if the buds looks good.

Re: First Grow: 2 white widows

I don't wanna lower the lights anymore cuz the tops are already getting a lot of heat. The tops are at 90degrees easily! I know this is bad, but so far the plants haven't shown heat stress.

I thought of leaving the yellowing fan leaves on, but I think they're just taking away energy and nutrients that can be better used for developing buds.

I'm still undecided though. I'll sleep on it tonight, and see how things are tomorrow. Thanks guys.

Re: First Grow: 2 white widows

That's why i said bend the taller one, and lower the smaller one a bit. you will get more light on more of the plant, and if it still stretches, you can keep it horizontal. you can also get the heat down on the tops of the plants. But that's just an opinion man :-) These guys have more experience then me by far :-)

Re: First Grow: 2 white widows

Well what I did was move the taller plant to the side a bit so that it wasn't completely under the hps.

I know what you're saying though, and it makes perfect sense. Thing is, I'm a chicken shit man. I really don't wanna do something to stress them out or cause a hermie. Especially when I'm so close to completing my first grow. I appreciate the advice though.

Re: First Grow: 2 white widows

You can take off the yellow leaves without harming your plant. The yellowing is a sign of N deficiency, but at this stage of your grow, that is not a problem. Your plants look nice and healthy to me.
