Ya... me either. Plus, I'd probably smoke all my weed on the road trip there.

Do you guys mean to put it in now? Or for next time? Like mix it in with the top? I don't want to ruin any roots.

The perlite is added when you mix the soil or in the new soil when you transplant. The worm castings can be added when mixing the soil or you can scratch up the surface and mix some in now..
Music, go to mammoth.. Big Bear sucks...

How should I take my Ph to 6.8? Here is a pic update for you guys. Pics taken Saturday.
Height Obie Top Obie Profile. There are lots of infant leaves springing up even though its branches are still tiny. And another problem, these flying things. Fruit bugs maybe. I saw one flying off, and there are a few dead in my reflector. Any advice? Thank you everybody for your advice and interest!

Those could be fungus gnats. I had those in my garden. A sponge full of predatory nemotodes cleared them up in about a week which i picked up from a local hyrdo store for about $15.
Obviously you've figured out the the twisted leave thing. Just to add a side note on that. One of my plants had the lowest set of leaves looking like that under the same exact conditions as the rest of my plants. I always just assumed it was a retarded plant, and all of the new growth was fine. It looks good now.

i have the same question livelong.. my soil's pH is perpetually high so i bought some organic Earth Juice Natural Down but am a little unsure about how to use it since it says to bring the pH down gradually because the stuff is quite strong. But if I am supposed to mix the stuff with water and water gradually day by day then I'd be watering everyday to get the pH down and I'm afraid I'd drown the plants. I'm wondering if I can mix the Earth Juice in with my nutrient solution to bring the pH of the solution down before putting it into soil but have not received any input yet.
Are you trying to bring the pH down to 6.8 or up to 6.8? I thought a suitable pH was between 5.5 - 6.5?

I've had the same issue in my garden, and it spreads quickly so act fast if you have a PH problem.
In my soil grow i've had too low of PH, so I've been feeding/watering with a PH solution of between 7 and 7.5 and then I measure the run off from the bottom of the pots. I try to keep it between 6 and 7 but ultimately I'd like low 6's. I am not increasing the frequency of watering the plants. I think next time i will go with a PH closer to 7 to water and see what sort of run off that gives me. Still trying to find that perfect sweet spot. This PH testing has now become a regular part of my watering/feeding routine.

5.5-6.5; thats the ph for hydro. To make it closer to seven I always used lime in the soil to bring it up if it was too low, if its too high I would use a bit more spaghnum moss in my mix. Other than the soil mix, the best way I found was to adjust the H2O by trial and error until you find the right run-off ph.

I'm trying to make mine more acidic (from 8-6.8) 6.8 is something Irie suggested for me. If you look at his plants, they are what you want your plants to look liike.
So to adjust that, would that be the lime? Anybody have any comments about the growth rate? Its frustrating to have a small bush when I'd rather have a large one, feel me?

i feel you. this excerpt was taken from the grow room FAQ's:
Lowering soil pH: (to make it more acidic) If your soil needs to be more acidic, sawdust, composted leaves, wood chips, cottonseed meal, leaf mold and especially peat moss, will lower the soil pH. by MisterIto bloodmeal/cottonseed meal during vegetative; bonemeal during flowering. Lowering hydroponic pH: (to make it more acidic) In hydroponics: use nitric acid during vegetative; phosphoric acid during flowering. Contributed by: Spiritual.Fa Stabilizing pH with Dolomite lime The best way to stable PH is by adding 1 ounce of Dolomite Lime per 1 gallon of planting soil. Hope that helps!!

Thanks for that music. It sucks that I don't have any of that stuff. Thank you everybody else for all of your guidance! I'm pondering whether or not to chop Obie and root him out again if adjusting pH doesn't work. I burned the root because I planted it upside-down. One of many reasons that it's a runt. All of my lights should be good enough to veg shouldn't it?
