hydro gro, i have my males picked out

I have sexed my plants and want to remove the male plants, what do I do with the root system that is in the shared container? I don't want to open it up in fear of damaging the other plants. If i cut the plant below the leaves will the roots remain healthy enough to just leave them?

Remove the males, if this is hydro DWC etc.. I would get some benie's in there to help break down the old roots system of the males, or it could cause problems.

If they were in soil by any chance then next time plant them in separate containers because sometimes one plant will grow stronger and dominate the other plant which will then starve/become stunted in growth.
