The Cannabis Clubs are medical marijuana dispensaries. They are set up all over the state of California under Prop. 215 that allows Doctors to prescribe their patients marijuana for medical use. They are commonly referred to as Cannabis 'Clubs' and this title is just given to a store that sells weed to medical marijuana patients.
ADD: There are also a few other states as well as Canada that also have some form of medical marijuana laws, I'm too stoned to look them up tho.

NorCal medical shit is probably as close as you can get to Amsterdam... IMO, and from what everyone who works there tells me.
