White widow carries all the normal traits of most mj plants. Purpling stems is a common trait seen whe your plants get cool at night. Purpling buds normally does not keep the color well and starts to look grayish after a good long cure.

my plants are on a 24 hours light cycle and consitently stays at a little above 80 degrees farenheit, so i dont think it is because it is too cold.

On my White Widow right now, I have exactly what you have described. Not on all the leaves, just on the fan leaves. If you check mr grow journal, you will see it does not have a deleterious effect on resuts.
