Can you taste the soil in your Buds?

We had some descent Chronic the other night, and We were tasting a soil taste. Does that mean it was grown in Soil, or can it taste that way if it was Hydro??

I have never tatsed soil in my weed, but had some friends who used fallen apples as part of their compost and could taste granny smiths. Nice!

Idk If it was soil that i taste but when i smoke stress it taste like idk but it dont taste like Sweet Lik Purp

Probly nutrient build-up that hasnt been completely flushed out. However there are alot of strains that naturally have an "Earthy" taste.

Im gonna have to agree with StonerGrower on this....There are strains with earthy flavours...but its probably caused by not flushing the plants properly...your tasting the food.

There are strains that have strong earthy flavors and undertones. One of those strains properly grown in hydro or soil would still retain it's earthy flavor.

Also old weed, moldy weed will taste like that.
