Hello everyone, My mystery ? is about an unusual growth coming from the mature 15 weeks into flower....OG Kush that was bred with GDP....It looks like two bananas placed on their sides cresent shaped or like the fangs of a teranchula spider except they are touching...sorry no photo...but in close to a year looking at various stages of the herb I have'nt come across this...I read how all harvesting appears to be done from 8 to 12 weeks of flower and so im wondering if what I see is the normal growth of a very mature flower...I busted one open and viewed it under 30X hand held and saw what could be more THC zones...On another as I opened the two halves with a needle while still attached to plant, it appeared to have dropped pollen dust.... I am amazed... Any Idea what this is?????

This has been described as the last ditch effort of a female plant trying to perpetuate her genetics. She grows those beautiful pistils (hairs) and swells up her calyxes in anticipation of being satisfied by some studly male plant. Alas, there are no males around, so she throws out a male banana of her own that will drop pollen and form a seed, allowing her to die in peace, knowing that her lineage has the ability to continue. If you search the forum you may find discussion about this, and whether or not seeds formed this way are considered "feminized".

I don't know. There is no plant I care about as much as Cannabis, so I haven't researched it.
I wonder if there are very many plants that have individual and (usually) segregated male and female plants, like Cannabis. Often, on other seed bearing plants, the male and female parts (pistils and stamens) are found together in a composite flower. |

Kiwis I have seen marked male and female.
I always thought Cannabis was the Only Plant to have male and female. But I'm sure there are freaks out there (no pun intended ;-) There's something about growing just one tomato plant, it doesn't produce without another plant. Maybe just certain varieties. |

![]() There may be some tomatoes like that. I know some fruit trees need pollinators of a different variety. I've grown a single tomato plant indoors and cross pollinated it's own flowers to produce fruit. |
