Well, unless you're planning on mail-ordering it out to buyers all over the world, what it goes for elsewhere is of no use to you.
Go hunt up some herb of the same quality in your area and price it. If you can't find someone who moves it in bulk you can still infer a price per pound. A lid is generally x% cheaper than purchasing four 1/4-ounces, a kewpie is generally cheaper than purchasing four sacks, etc. |

If you will look in HT, they have what people around the country are paying for various types / grades of smoke. But don't do the narc thing by thinking that if an oz sells for x, then that times 16 is what your pound is worth. Just like any other propduct, you would be the wholesaler who needs a middleman to buy who then sells it to usually another group of business people who then sell it for "retail" prices If you will watch the CNBC prdouction " Marijuana Inc." it will give you an idea of the business side of this product. Don't get me wrong, I am only a medical user for chronic pain (unfixable ruptured discs in back) and DO NOT DEAL, or at least since I graduated college

You don't have to be a dealer to know that most every product on the planet is cheaper when purchased in bulk.
Even, I assume, when purchasing from the lowly dealer as opposed to cutting out a few middle-persons and getting it from the cropper. After all I bet the dealer would rather sell larger packages to fewer people. Cuts down on the hassle, chance of selling to the wrong person, and the traffic at his location. Not to mention that the people that "just want a little bit" are far less likely to stop by when they come across something special. And the fact that if they are likely to stop by several times a week, they are probably a RPITA and the dealer isn't too concerned with keeping their custom anyway. |

There's things called supply and demand, there's not just neverending buds. The dealers have their own clients that buy the buds they have and at times it's a hassle for them to be running around to buy more up but they do it. If they had to supply what you want and what all their other clients want they might run into problems supplying everyone. You expect them to get rid of their other clients? Most of the time it's not too inconvenient for them if they're supplying anyone with lb's anyway. They aren't going to cut off all their customers to lose a couple hundred dollars every week depending on you to come back for your bud. Understand now? As for the original poster asking how much for a pound. If your looking to get a pound you should already know the price your looking at or your just wasting your money. Ask your dealer for the correct price but of course don't ask your dealer stupid questions. Only ask if your serious on buying. |

My bad, I guess every location is different. Around here the few dealers that will break down and sell a 1/4 bag aren't really too happy to do so and generally advise the people that try to purchase that way to save their money and come back when they're ready to buy a lid like everyone else.
Several of them have told me they wish they could just sell everything in elbows and not have to bother with the piecemeal stuff. As for a neverending supply of buds... It is and it isn't. Some grow five harvests a year and only sell what they grow, so once the six pounds or so are gone they're GONE until the next cycle's pretties are cured. Others do nothing but deal pot and they get bi-weekly shipments from two or three other places (one is generally the bricked commercial crap though which hardly counts in my book) and not only never run out, some have complained that they have trouble moving what they have before they get their next "fill-up." Not surprisingly, it's the dealer who only sells what he grows that is much happier at the thought of moving everything in elbows or at least 1/4pds. They are active members in the community and do not wish to be known as someone with a lot of traffic coming in and out all the time. |
