All my babies...gone...

I woke up this morning to find something horrible that happened overnight. All my babies, as few as they were, gone. They were not pulled up, one was left and it was broken at the bottom. She was the healthiest and biggest of the bunch. It looks almost like the very bad wind over the weekend had something to do with it, but I can't be sure.

This is very depressing. I sat there like the mother gorilla that still hangs onto a deceased offspring several days after it's dead.

My question is, and I can't decide whether it would work myself, would I still be able to seed a few more, veg and flower them in time for harvest? It doesn't get cold at night here until late Sep, usually November. I still have time I think, do you think it's worth it? If worse comes to worse I can harvest somewhat early, as I prefer a more heady buzz for my medication anyway.

You have time. If need be you can cover them with a green house type thing and heat it. You could also move them inside for a short time before harvest.

I'm in the SE US. Yea, I was still thinking that I have time because we have very long, hot summers and until December it doesn't even start getting chilly and even then alot of the days are still warm. It just sucks to lose my kids like that.

You're also very right, could have been deer. They're freakin abundant around here. I can't believe this time I forgot the larger animal deterrent. LOL, had the insects and small pests covered, forgot about deer for some reason. Oh well, learned my lesson.
