What do you mean? This post is too vauge to answer. Can you post pictures of the pots you are reffering to?
All pots should have some type of drainage in the bottom whether its holes or slots.

if it holds the soil and doesn't let all the water just run off it will work imo. i've used some crazy stuff when i started.
