How do you know its a male plant??

i have a young sprout and i wanted to know how do you know its a male or female?

Switch the lights to 12/12. You will know within a couple of weeks whether it is male or female. The males show themselves first. They grow pollen sacs, similar to mini bananas in appearance. The females will grow little white hairs called pistils.
