Re: mother plants soil
You can keep mothers in the same pot for years.

I would change it out at least every 12 months so that you can ensure that there is no calcium buildup and give her a refreshing boost

Re: mother plants soil
wow looks like everybody has a different opinion. would the potency of her babies be less the longer i left her.or would she be harder to clone?

Re: mother plants soil
Potency is genetic so that will not alter, but I have heard that a plant gets 'tired' after a while, making clones harder to take. But then again, this is only anecdotal, which is why there are so many opinions.

I have also had mothers that would shit out clones that were hermies. Not entirely hermie but at least 10% on maybe 3 different ex-mother plants. I don't know if it happens to anyone else but its happened to me and it really freaks you out! Ya know....its supposed to be gauranteed that its a female being that its a clone but
ITS A BOY......OR SHIM....WHATEVER![]()

Also I would just recommend crossing the mother with another fine piece of genetics and it lives on with SEED
and you also have the opportunity to fine tune your smoke....I have had plants for 2 years that were strong and healthy. I have had some plants that died off after 14 months. I have never heard of anyone personally who has had a mother for more than 4 years. But thats just me personally. I haven't googled it yet, haha I just had a soon to be mother sprout: Greenhouse Cheese I have her in a rockwool plug now and will transplant her directly into a 2 gallon pot. Then the only other transplant will be into a 30 gallon pot for what I hope to be at least 2 years. That would be amazing but I'll live with at least 200 clones.......good luck and let us in on a couple grows....I learn something new everyday and when its about herb its a lesson well learned. good luck ![]()
