All my "older" hippie friend like home grown. I've smoked a type of weed called home grown. But I've also heard this term used to describe weed grown at your home. There's also alot of t-shirts that say "Kick Ass Home Grown". Witch in my oppion if what I was smoking was home grown it's not too kick ass.

Re: Is HOME GROWN a strand or way of growing.
i selected "it refers to how it's grown" beacuse when someone says this is homegrown, i think it means they know the person who has made it and put time and effort into making it the best possible, as opposed to commercial growers who only care for yield and not about the taste, potentcy, or what chemicals they are using in the process.
having said that, the term home grown doesnt really make alot of sense.

Re: Is HOME GROWN a strand or way of growing.
home grown is the method. it was grown at home. there is no strain called homegrown.
home grown can be the best or the worst. many commercial growers grow at home. most of them take great pride in what they grow. the better the quality the better the price and buzz.

Homegrown's all right with me, Homegrown is the way it should be. Homegrown is a good thing, plant that bell and let it ring!

Re: Is HOME GROWN a strand or way of growing.
Some years ago, down here in this part of the world, homegrown and dirt-scratch were both terms or names given to weed that was usually mediocre in potency and kind of light green in color in the bag. Not that it wasn't good, just that it wasn't Columbian from the Santa Marta coast, or something akin to it. Usually it would have a piney smell to it, with lots of fan leaves in a bag and a few broken up buds maybe. Nowadays around here it's hard to find, because the few who grow weed like that usually keep it to themselves, and the rest of the growers are using seeds of a higher quality and using make-shift breeding programs. One friend of an old g/f a long time ago gave me a one gallon zip-lock bag of "homegrown" from up in Missouri. Might not have been stuff to win a prize, but it was... sigh. Good ol' days.
