Well i guess ive been freeloading long enough, so here i go starting the all to common "rookie" grow.
I have started from bag seedthe following; 12 seeds down to 9 sprouts down to 6 plants. So im trying to get 6 plants to the point of seeing any lady parts. I have one planted outdoors because of slow growth due to lack of proper drainage. I have potting soil in 2 pots, 1 gator-aide bottle and 2 manure cups. The gator-aide bottle is not working due to condensation building up on the inside of the bottle. I have gotten worm casting and made a new soil mix of sand, potting soil and worm casting. I also made a tea and will spray on plants for foliar feeding starting tommorrow. The plants seem to be slow growing because of lack of nutes and over watering. This is just an educated "Guess". I have been reading and respondingwith many of you, and the help is awsome! THanks much to everyone i hope this works out. THe plan is to transplant all females outdoors in prepaired soil. Somewhere that I can get to them often as to grow a great plant! Is it posible to do an outdoor grow in a pot? WHere as you put it out during the day and bring in at night or should they just be planted outdoors? Also what is the deal with using Orange juice to help with resin production? WHen do you start this, is this in conjunction with fertz, etc. etc. etc. Once again thanks all, Matty ![]()

Re: O.K. here I go!
My suggestion for this first grow is keep it simple and focus on the basics. Things like the juice can wait a bit. Yes, you can grow a plant well in a pot outdoors. I've done this many times. Great to see you starting a journal. Don't forget the pics lol. Good luck!

Re: O.K. here I go!
Thanks guys! The worm castings have made a great difference. I have been fighting the urge to water and this has also seem to help. The stems are turnig greyish, as they were rather purplish red. Will the stems recover from this or can this stunt the growth of the plant?
Gotta get some photos up to show will do that soon thanks again! Matty

Just let nature take it's course. It sounds like your plant is doing very well.

Re: O.K. here I go!
Plants still have a red stem. Will this go away or is it still lacking something? 3 are still in a pots and 2 are outdoors, and one lost to bugs, Bastards! Hope to start seeing some hairs before I kill all of them!

Re: O.K. here I go!
One of my lowryder2's looked the exact same as that Purple/red stem. It went away after a few weeks. But other than that, just like what smokin moose said "just let nature take its course".

Re: O.K. here I go!
Do these plants look small? They were stated from seeds roughly april 10th. Also mine dont seem to have deep green leaves, they are a light color green. Just wondering.
thanks, Matty

Re: O.K. here I go!
Bit easier to tell with a bigger image. Your plants are hungry. Try a spray of fish emulsion to add N - the purpling is the indicator. Sometimes with organics it can take the plant a little while to access the nutrients. Add some fish to your watering as well. After a month, your plants should be a bit bigger. To give you an example, I germed some beans at the end of April, and they are now 15" tall, and ready to flower.

Re: O.K. here I go!
My Lowryder2 is abit bigger than yours, and struggling to grow as fast as the others...I started them on April 14th...But you have to remember that it is an auto flowerer, so I guess it does grow faster. What Kind of lighting do you have them on?
Also if you check out my grow journal and see the Green Bucket, it has 2 lowryders in it. The one on the right is the one that was purple stemmed. Great start HippieGuy, hope the purple gets green 4 you, only if it isnt supposed to be there!

Re: O.K. here I go!
I also added blood meal to it, and I think it did the trick...4 the N

Re: O.K. here I go!
Wow 15" ! I have much to learn! Yea i really dont want to use MG so i 'll give the fish emulsion a try. Lighting is what they get when outdoors. im trying to get them at least 10 hours of direct sunlight. My location and sun position dont allow me to get much more, but for a while at night i do put in 2 25 watt flor. bulbs for a little extra light before bed. Not sure if this is doing anything or not.
Once a person starts this process, it seems that i much more repect for good bud and the person growing it. Maybe it gets easier over time and learning, but damn you all got some nice growing bud! Much respect, Matty

Matty, we all had to start somewhere, and part of the fun is learning. There are no egos here, and we are all keen to see you succeed.
