Did anybody try lighting both sides of plant and top?

I've asked this very same question...
From what I've read about this is its a waste of light energy to have it come from below. Phototropism I think its called. The leaves do not photosynthesize on the underside of the leaves. Hence the darker green on top of the leaf vs. the bottom. It is true that the leaves will turn down or whichever way to gather the light on the dark green side. I have seen this personally. However, I do not think it is a good idea to use your main lights underneath. I hold to the idea its a waste of light energy. I'd say if anything try to supplement the sides of your grow with cheap led strips on a panel or even some CFLs would work as long as they are the right spectrum for the plant growth/lighting stage you are in.
