Coir Brick

Contemplating using Coir Brick to to fill the bottom 1/2 of 15 Gal. Rubbermaid tote, then soil/ vermiculite fill. Any negatives using Coir Brick? Would something else be more compatible?

Why not just grow in coco? I personally wouldn't mix the 2 mediums.

Coco and perlite is all you need. Add nutes, and PH water to 5.8 and done. I don't use Vermiculite in my mix, the coco holds water decent enough for me.

Downsides to perlite? It needs to be rinsed well to remove any salt build up. Otherwise, it's amazing stuff, and holds a very steady PH.
