Advanced Nutrients

I'm growing in a Ocean And Forest knock-off (Power Flower), and about 4 weeks ago I noticed the vibrant emerald green of my plants was starting to fade, an indication that the nitrogen that came mixed in with the potting soil was about out.
For years I've been using chicken shit tea for veg. But I wanted something better.

I have a friend who runs a grow shop.
I called and asked him "what's the BEST organic veg nutrient on the market?"
Without hesitation he said "Iguana Juice".
I went to the organicnutrients web site and did some reading up. I was impressed but then again every one says theirs is the best.
Anyway I ordered some.
Pricey yes. I pay $30.00/litre (that includes tax & shipping).
But I'm happy with the results so far. The plants greened right back up (but miracle grow will do that) but another thing I noticed was that the new meristems are thicker, which will allow more nutrients to get around to the budsites.
And there is an intangible, a "feeling" I get (aura? vibes? anurism?) when I tend my garden that I didn't get before, a feeling that that says "we're happy, thank you daddy"
Anyway I was impressed enough to have just ordered some more, plus a bottle of Iguana Juice bloom which should arrive Wed.

So I suggest trying some.

Advance Nutrients is VERY strong stuff... for their part ! & B nutes, be sure to use LESS than directed, and slowly move up higher..as it is VERY powerful stuff..

Yeah I shoulda mentioned that.
My friend at the grow shop told me to use 1/4 the recommended dosage, and advanced nutrients just re-labeled their products to reflect the correct dosage.
The amt should be 1 tablespoon per litre of water.

Also, Iguana Juice is a fish-based nutrient. I quit using fish-based nutrients years ago when my dog dug a plant up to find that dead fish it smelled, but now I grow in an enclosure so they're safe.

Thank you. I have about 1 gallon each of the GH Floro series so I will wait til I am low and try it out. Would be nice to try organic base nutes instead of the chemy ones I prefer.

i've used the mother earth organic super tea (grow and bloom) and they have worked fine for me. maybe one or two leaf fingers got burned.

It's true, if you're just comparing the price Advanced Nutrients can look expensive. Of course that also depends a bit on where you live. The further it has to be shipped the more it costs.

But we all know that price alone isn't the only consideration. You gotta give to get, right?

Besides, Advanced Nutrients products are a lot stronger than anything else I've ever seen or heard of so you're not really comparing 1L to 1L. You have to account for the final volume of solution it makes.

For my money it's completely worth it. I get more yield, better quality bud, and a grow with little to no problems. It actually costs me less to grow with AN when you add it all up.

It's more concentrated than most.

But it's well known that whether you're using Advanced Nutrients or anything else you've got to be cautious with any new product. Start out at half or even one quarter strength and work your way up. It's not the product's fault if the plants get burned - that's all the gardener.

We've all done it and we'll all likely do it again. But you can't blame the hammer when you hit your thumb.

hahah this is just like the other post but here il say it again

I totally support Advanced Nutrients. heres why

(oh and i dont work for them lol)

People say they are expensive. Okay, sure, but they do research, and you know what? that costs money. but it pays off. consistent heavy yields, high thc percentage. what more can you ask for? quality is always there too. i know a couple of people using advanced, and even my buddy whos been growing for a couple of years recently switched to advanced after i showed him my stuff.

I run their

Sensi Grow a n b
Voodoo juice
Liquid Carbo load
B-52

Flowering
Sensi Bloom A n B
Bud Candy
Big Bud
Bud Blood
B-52

i notice flower sites a day or 2 into flowering. crystals form at about week two or 3. im not kidding. my plants just hit week 4 and check out this latest pic. they are vegge for 4 weeks and flowered for 9 weeks, but in week 4 of flower. they are about 3 1/2 feet tall, if not more. check out my thread!! ive been using AN since week 1. used oneness but didnt like it very much.

Oh yeah CaliGrown's 2nd grow Casey Jones and Bubble Gum from Oaksterdam! DWC!

Yes, hes right. It is. I haven't hit past 1100 ppm without burning my plants. But that's nice, because you save on nutrients. Not to mention your plants are happier at lower concentrations, when possible. Either way, go really easy on these nutes but its really nice because it rquires no cal mag.

Used it, loved it, bought the t-shirt. Okay, not really.

Seriously all, just look at AN's nute chart on their site. A lot of people are OD'ing when they use these nutes and that's why they're having troubles.

It's tempting to overdo it when you see the price tag, but plants can't read what you've spent on them. All the plant knows is that you're giving it too much, too fast.

Easy does it.

Always have a full bowl

you know, i never thought about the fact that research costs $$$$$$. So, I guess it would make sense for a company to charge more.

I mean, I would if I were them.

Can't sell this sh-- for free, although that would be nice, wouldn't it? ;)

I've found some discount sites and companies that sell some hydroponics stuff for lower prices. ANd so far, it seems like they're legit. Maybe that's a good way to save some money along the way?

Or just start out with as little nutes as you can, see how things work out and then move on up to new stuff when your grow gets bigger and makes more money, you know.

always about $$$$, ain't it?

I am useing the three part system in soil and have noticed some strains take more nutes then others but thay do offer a chart that comes in three strenghts for flowering. Also i dont veg. my plants for eight weeks even when starting from seed.I like to flush heavy ever two weeks.Want to try there kushy kush, say it's ment just for kush strains i think that is just hype, but thay have not let me down yet.

That's a good point. People complain about companies being out to make money, but no one wants a job that pays in warm feelings.

I'm glad the company I work for aggressively pursues profit, especially in this economic environment. That means they can afford to keep me employed, and I can afford to keep paying my rent and buying my groceries.

I've grown with AN. Their nutrients aren't overpriced, they're just that much better.

Yeah, if rent could only be paid in warm feelings...my landlord could use some LOL

I think it's totally worth it to pay more when you get more in return...i mean, there's a reason why BMWs cost more than Ford Escorts do. If Advanced Nutrients works better, then they SHOULD charge more. I think some people just want to cut corners, and if that works for them, so be it. I'm not smoking thier stuff.

:ganjamon:

totally! in a good way, but you should start out slow since a lot of plants can't take the strength of Advanced Nutrients at first...the plants need to be eased into a routine of nutes and then as the grow goes on, add more.

Starting out with 1/3 to 1/2 strength nutes is always best with any new nute for your grow.

:goodjob:

Good advice. I think some people are surprised when they upgrade from lesser nutrients to Advanced Nutrients and find that they're a lot more concentrated, but like you said it's always a good idea to start out at a fraction of the recommended strength.

I think a lot of people just don't want to play it safe, or they underestimate how much they need to tone it down for young plants.

I'm currently using GH Flora series, with Cal Mag and a couple other extras. I've never used anything else, but I keep hearing and seeing all this talk about AN. I'm not sure if there actually better than GH or if most of what I see is just different kinds of marketing. Even on that TV show "Weeds", they used AN. So I'm really thinking about switching over to try them out.

Does anyone know of any legit, side by side comparisons that have been done between GH and AN?? I'd be very interested in seeing that. I seen one side by side comparison on YouTube where AN came out on top between 5 different nutes, but I dont know if AN did that for marketing or if it was really legit. They even gave THC percentages too and that takes lab test. So I dont know.

There's a good site that has AN for discount prices. Just search discount AN and you'll get a site or two. Good prices, and some samples with orders.
